The
Reverend Diane Ford Jones currently serves as the senior national church
relations associate for Bread for the World. Previously she served
as national director of Every Church a Peace Church, in the national setting of the
United Church of Christ as minister of communication and mission education for
the Justice and Witness Ministries in Cleveland. She also served as executive
director of the Faith and Politics Institute on Capitol Hill. Diane is a
passionate advocate for peace with justice. In 2000 and 2001, respectively, she
earned masters’ degrees in divinity and in communication from Boston University where she specialized in the
integrated study of media, religion and society.
Diane’s
spiritual journey was sprouted from The Rev. N. Gordon Cosby’s Church of the
Saviour in Washington, D.C. where her passion in economic
justice flourished. She joined Faith UCC in 1989 and was ordained in the Potomac
Association in May 2004. She has been an activist working in ecumenical and
interfaith settings for over 25 years. Diane is a proud single parent of two
fantastic sons, 21 year-old son, Justin, who is a junior at Hampton University and 22 year-old, Adulin, who
lives in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
