Thank you for thinking of becoming a facilitator for a Wisdom Circle. We honor and respect whatever decision you ultimately make. We are sure you are wondering what is expected of a facilitator. Following are the guidelines for the role of the facilitator:
You will choose what your Wisdom Circle will be centered around.
You will be expected to organize the Circle and bring the members together. Wisdom Circle Ministries will help you with participant sign-up if needed.
As Facilitator you will maintain the sacred space of the Circle and create the culture of honor, respect and confidentiality within the Circle among all participants.
You will initially select the topic of the meetings.
Try to engage the participants in being moderators on a rotating schedule.
Maintain the basic format of a Wisdom Circle. (Basic format will be supplied.)
Be the liaison between your Wisdom Circle and Wisdom Circle Ministries staff.This would include conveying to staff any calls to action generated by your Circle and any information needing to be conveyed from staff to Circle participants.
Some information about each Circle will have to be notated and sent to staff for reporting to Wisdom Circle Board and the IRS for our 501(3)c. (Note outlines will be supplied.)
In order to support the staff in responding to calls for action arising from the Wisdom Circles we will be asking facilitators to request love donations. We suggest that each Circle decide how often to give and how much to give.
A $25.00 love donation is requested when you sign up to be a facilitator. This covers the cost of materials and any training you may need. If you cannot afford this love donation, but would still like to be a facilitator, please let us know. We will not turn anyone away because they cannot afford the love donation request.
